Let me know which window is your favorite!

A few days ago I was reading the Editor’s Page from the June issue of  Elle Decor, and Margaret Russell gives some good advice. ” Study your spaces with a highly focused eye, rethink a floor plan, clean and paint as needed and ruthlessly edit your possessions”. Ruthlessly edit….That made me stop and think about how I look at a space. Do I like the look of “ruthlessly edited?” I don’t know that I can go that far, but I do like a clean space. I have been doing a good job this spring of donating what I don’t need or want, and I tell you that it feels good! Mariette Himes Gomez is a designer that does this well. Her spaces are elegant and refined, yet  still architecturally interesting. She chooses beautiful yet streamlined antiques, upholstery, accessories and fixtures. She also chooses subtle fabrics and colors, but pays close attention to detail and every space is very functional. Here are a few photos from her portfolio.
