Most of the time floors don’t get the credit they deserve,
but if you look at these photos you will see how much they participate in an overall look.
They can give so much depth, character, age and beauty to a room.

I love the chevron floor. Had one in my foyer when I lived in Nashville. Made such a beautiful statement. And you are so right, they are often not given much credit! Hope you are off to a wonderful October!
Laura I hope to one day have aged oak herringbone wood floors…love them!
I am having an amazing Giveaway of Plush Pumpkins from Love Feast!

I think I could have photo albums dedicated to some amazing floors. On our honeymoon there was one floor in Portugal that I was just speechless over. It is the simple things that show the love of time and patina with age that are special.

The rugged first two images made me smile. I love that worn earthen feel. We were just working on a project for which we considered to slice an exterior path right through a house – open to the elements, stone walls going up to the sky, a tight Mediterranean alleyway of sorts, and the floor would have been a cobblestone type of surface. We had a hard time letting go of all the possibilities and that particular beauty. We ended up doing something else, but will bring back the ideas for something else.
Hope you are doing well, Laura.
Herringbone floors can do no wrong in my book!
