One of my favorite ways to accessorize a room is by adding plants and flowers. I especially like bringing greenery inside at this time of year to add life and warmth during these colder months. I was thrilled to see the below photograph grace the cover of the December/January issue of House Beautiful. Mark Sikes and Michael Giffin’s placement of the tree in the living is perfect and simultaneously genius. I now can’t imagine this room without it!
Large scale plants add great impact to interior spaces and bring color upwards.
When I grew up my mom had a Ficus tree in our house which I always thought was so neat.
These pretty blooms lend an organic feel to this library, and I like to use large scale branches.
We also had large beautiful forsythia bushes, which I remember my mom frequently using in her arrangements.
I always think it is interesting to see plants and flowers in interior spaces.
I love how they are used below at different heights and spots in the room.

Wow – what a difference plants make.
Oh Laura, was just thinking of getting a tree! You totally got me motivated xx Ali
I so agree! Plants bring life to a room. I have one room in my home that if I take one of the plants out of the room, the room falls flat. Sometimes it is pretty amazing what one plant will do to a room, Great examples here on your post.

Laura, we had a ficus tree too
I’m a huge fan of large plants or cut branches — that arrangement in Courtnay Daniels Haden’s office, in front of the shelves, is a favorite. Saved that picture as well!
