I love to tackle interior DIY projects, but I don’t usually have the time that they require so I look to a few of my favorite blogs to read about inventive re-do’s. One of my regular reads is Little Green Notebook. Jenny provides great descriptions and how-to’s for all of her DIY projects – and I can say that they all turn out beautifully. A favorite is this super easy Ikea Lack table update
Eddie Ross is a master at DIY projects and crafts.
I love how he reinvented this metal bench he found at an antique shop for a piece he did for Ralph Lauren & Bloomingdales.
Lindsay & Aubrey updated a simple piece of Ikea furniture into this fabulous bedside table/dresser. (project here)
Another fun dresser update by Kate at Centsational Girl – what a great color! (project here)
Adding a mirror to the top of a side table is an easy update that Abbe did and it gave her bedside table a whole new look.
Sanity Fair updated an inexpensive lucite tray by adding animal print underneath it, what a fun and easy update.

And stenciling a plain rug like Nate Berkus gives it that extra stylish touch. (project here)
A great update of bedroom furniture By Glamouri here.
Back in Spring 2009, I transformed some bamboo chairs and a bookshelf into a table for a client.
Another easy and smart project by Jenny at Little Green Notebook is creating your own lacquer look boxes.
There are lots of great projects to be inspired by!

Great post! Thanks for the inspiring photos.
I also love “Splendid Willow” – she painted a chest this to dye for blue….it is forever etched in my diy brain!
Great gathering of some talented and crafty make-overs.

There is so much inspiration, I love the DIY’ers that post their tutorial. For one it is so generous and two, I need it! ha!

Thanks for the inspiration… all I need… MORE project ideas. HA!
What a good round up of DIY projects! I hadn’t seen the glamouri one before and I’ve been dreaming of doing something similar to put our TV onto. I recently did an ikea hack of the RAST nightstand (like aubrey and lindsey) with the same black outline and white drawer fronts of the glamouri dresser seen here and I love it.
Thanks for the post
Oh, I’ve got those same lack tables. I’m so getting after them! Thanks for stopping by RHS always! Great week to you.
