I love seeing new ideas from different designers and want to share one that caught my eye.
I was checking out the website of the Mendelson Group and found this fun kitchen.
What good use of the often overlooked sixth plane!

Very brave. And not the same old, same old. I actually like the whole kitchen. Fresh, chic and happy!

I’ve seen more and more wallpapers on ceilings. I do like the idea but after taking down more wallpaper in my life than most people due mostly in part to our nomadic military lifestyle, I have to say the idea of scraping wallpaper off a ceiling makes me cringe. But it is fresh and fun.
I think it’s fun!
I’m going to do it!
Laura, Love the ceiling. I also love the collection of plates. I have been trying to organize some blue plates in my breakfast room. I really enjoy your blog!! I am not a decorater, but a Mom of two boys in Charlotte . I also have a Brooks. Thanks, Jamie

It’s a complete knock-off of Diamond Baratta Design
Oh! I do love it!
Brings back memories of when we moved to our home. The kitchen had a wallpapered ceiling and the floor had a patterned linoleum. An artist and her husband built this house and raised 3 sons. Every house needs a bit of pattern to add some spunk. Just think of the playdates going home and telling their Mom’s and Dads – “Can we have wallpaper on the celing?”

Gutsy but effective!!!!!!!!!Maryanne xo
Love the effect you created by papering the ceiling. It really brings the kitchen to life.

Hilarious…you and I are always clipping the same pics.
I love the pyramid on the doors.
Happy Week my friend.
Love it Laura! I guess I am crazier than most because I don’t think it all that gutsy or wild at all – meaning, I love it and think it is a fun, creative touch. I would want to be careful what I chose to put up there, of course, but it is so fun! It makes me think of charming old attic rooms where the walls slant and people paper all the way up and over to the other side.
P.S. I found a great old Mexican pot at Post & Grey – who would have thought I’d find a Mexican piece!? Thanks for the tip. Also discovered Sleepy Poet Antique Mall – wild and huge!
