Even though my little ones are both boys, I always enjoy looking at well-designed rooms for girls. These are great color combinations that can transition through the ages without losing any personality. If you’re starting with a white nursery, add color with paint, upholstery, window treatments and accents to suit your girl’s tastes.
Punch up rooms with gender-neutral walls through pops of color and feminine accents in lighting, fabric and wall art.
Keep a pink room from being too babyish by using a combination of modern furniture and lighting, geometric prints and more sophisticated wall decor.
And in the meantime, let them be little!
Replacing the crib with a bed and updating the wall decor are the only changes needed to transition this girl’s room from a nursery all the way to teen.
I enjoyed reading all the comments on the Boys’ Rooms post. Let me know what you have done with your kids’ rooms!

Lucky little girls!
My girl cannot wait to claim a larger room after the renovation! She wants to be an “Interior Designer” – so I am going to give her the job of designing her room!

I like your comment about “let them be little.” When I was redecorating my older son’s nursery into a little boys room, I was all about the Ralph Lauren-esque look of plaids and dark woods. My mom stopped me and reminded me about his love of trucks and bright colors. There will always be time in his teen years to up the ante bedroom-wise, but allowing kids to be kids is the most important part of decorating! As always, you are quite spot on Laura. Hope you are well, Devon
Beautiful images, Laura. I think it makes a girl feel very grown up to have a “grown up” room. I used to love staying in my grand mother’s guest room, I felt large and in charge.
Best,
Liz
So many of those are my favorites….stored in my files! Love your choices!
All adorable room! I always find that designing for a little girl is so hard for me sometimes, especially when the request is ‘pink with pink and then some pink tossed in’, I am stuck in boy land over at our home, LOL!
I love all of the images here. I agree, let them be little. With three boys I found I did their rooms 3 times each, nursery, little boy at 4yrs and big boy at 9 yrs, that is when I did plaids stripes in the navy and then I did not have to do it again. So figure on 3 re-dos and ejoy those little guys, nothing like little boys!!! Kathysue
These rooms are stunning! Great choices!

I know what you mean, I have 2 little boys also. Not only do I drool at little girls rooms but also in the little girls clothing section. Boys stuff just isn’t as cute:( These are all gorgeous rooms and there are many ideas that can translate into a boys room. I really love the paint treatment in the first pic with the stripes going up the wall onto the ceiling. I will be doing that at some point. Thanks so much for sharing such inspiring ideas:)
Good heavens these are great! I especially love those where there is enough space to allow extra seating for friends to visit in the children’s room. Funny, I remember being so happy when my friends would visit my room, and the only place they had to sit was on my twin beds. Even back then when we all decided to head out and play I’d quickly straightened the bed covers as they headed out my run, and then quickly ran after them without them even noticing I did. Hmmmm, says a lot – LOL!
i love those beautiful rooms! I wish i had a girl!! Can not wait to see boys room now just because we moved recently and my 6 years old and 17 months baby need a make up to their enchanted place!! Thank you for you stylish blog!
Thanks for the inspiration. My two girls have variations of pink and green. It took me three years to get around to painting their desired colors, but by then…they were almost over it. Now wishing I had gone with a pale shade of turquoise and green for the oldest, but then would’ve had to change all the bedding. Too much!
My oldest is almost 10, so I know another change will happen soon…if I can do it without spending too much. We’re in that tricky in between stage!
Hi Laura!
These were refreshing!!!!!!!! A little bit of everything with one common denominator Personality…….Thanks! Maryanne xo
Awesome pictures and gave me some ideas for decorating my girls rooms. I like the fairies on top each bed with each girls name.
Great looking rooms in general. I like all the examples of beds in front of windows which is so many times necessary, yet scary to design clients.
Love the stripes going up the wall and across the ceiling in that first picture.. these are all great inspiration pics!

Laura, so much eye candy and inspiration. We have put our 2 girls (6 and 8) in the same room – and I strongly believe it has helped them bond evern more. They are the most loving sisters!
Image 4 and 14 are wonderful. Both classy and girlie. I am saving them!
Love to you,
Mon
