“I stayed in the room where I was born, and tried to remember the colors of Africa”. -Meryl Streep
One of my favorite movies, I watched it twice this summer.
This might be one of the all time best movie scenes.
Influenced by colonial British rule, Karen Blixen’s home in Africa is just as one might imagine.
Her house in Denmark has a similar but more formal feel.
Karen Blixen published her book as Isak Dinesen.
Want to recreate the Out of Africa look? click here for below sources.
If you have some free time this last weekend of summer put it on your “to watch” list.

Love that movie!! I have watched it countless times! Wonderful post.
Love that movie! One of my favorite scenes is when she has the staff wear gloves to serve food, funny! I’ll have to revisit the movie and pay particular attention to the house. Great post!
Classic movie!!!! I wasn’t sure about the Back Up Plan, which just came out on dvd….but it was cute. I also love The Hangover. I can see that over and over. Neither are classics, but both made me smile!
