My daughters inspire me in the summer…their imagination and creativity runs wild and it’s a beautiful thing to see! Oh, how I’d love to have an artist rendering of my home! It would make great stationery, too!

Patricia is amazingly talented! I adore everything she does. My house with its hydrangeas and crepe myrtles in bloom is what says summer to me!
Summer is the beach for sand and surf and sun and the mountains for cool and green and calm. Lazy days, good books, and good friends, time for family and friends – that’s what summer is for me.
What an amazing giveaway, her art is one of a kind and so beautiful! For me summer inspires my creativity, it begins when the lilacs bloom and ends with the smell of fall in the air.
Summer to me is impromtu dinners with family and friends, sitting outside around a big table lauging and sharing stories about the day….since we are on the California coast we finally had that night last night!
Summer is no plans, no schedule, farmer’s market meals, reading lots of books, and serendipitous car trips.
Summer is fresh food, sitting on a screened in porch with wine and friends or family, the sound of crickets and fresh flowers. I love summer!!
So many things…watermelon, the beach, the lake, fresh fried okra and sliced tomatoes from the garden, zinnias…
What inspires me in summer is the smell of an afternoon thunderstorm, the sound of crickets and blinking lights of fireflies in at dusk, the memories of youth and freckles. Peach cobbler and Perdido Key. My hope is that the gulf oil spill will not spoil those memories for generations to come!
