I love to cook and enjoy attempting to become a green thumb… I have added two sections to my blogroll on the right called “Good Cooking Reads”
and “Good Gardening Reads” and hope to add to them over time.
I am wondering if you can share with me what else are you reading that I don’t know about related to gardening, cooking, house, and home? While we are talking about gardening…this little bunny has been living in our yard for the past couple of weeks. Brooks has named her carrot. I thought she was cute until I caught her today eating my flowers.
If anyone also has any suggestions how to nicely nudge bunny out of the garden I would appreciate it.
House and home, cooking and gardening, just what I love. Please let me know what I am missing…

Good luck with little bunny boy. We had one as a pet and the only thing he would not eat were Hydrangeas. I did so enjoy seeing him in the yard I built a window box for flowers he couldn’t reach that, lol. Kathysue
Laura we have bunnies running around here as well. Lts of geese in the pond too!

Laura, do you have Ellie Krieger’s cookbooks? She’s a graduate of my program, so the recipes are healthy but also delicious! Annie

I love the French food site http://www.easy-french-food.com They combine great food and ease. They have a blog so we can have the best of both worlds.
My 3 year old granddaughter would love your bunny.
Hope the bunny doesn’t eat your garden, but he sure is cute! Great idea. I love to read anything about cooking or gardening so I’m looking forward to what you will have to share.
I just bought a fun new cookbook for kids called Bean Appetit. It has alot of fun healthy food ideas that the kids can help make. Anna loves to help cook.
My new favorite Kitchen read is LuLu Powers, Food to Flowers. I read it like a novel, start to finish and the photography inside is fantastic!
And, as far as the bunnies, we have found them not afraid of much. Trust me….we’ve tried. They are eating all the flowers in my pots!

Blackberry Farm has a wonderful cookbook out–If you can’t splurge on the $500 plus a night rooms you can at least eat like you are there. Also Frank Stitt, a Birmingham, AL chef has two cookbooks out Southern Table and an Italian cookbook Bottega Favorita. and of course the Lee Brothers for true southern cooking done hip!
There are a couple of ways to make your garden less attractive to rabbits. One is to get some hair clippings from the Beauty Salon & sprinkle them about. The scent makes them think people are around. A great, but expensive product is called Liquid Fence, very stinky & must reapply after rain or watering – but it does work.
Good Luck!
Good heavens, I have my mags and my over 110 blogs I read, haven’t read a good book in a long time, other than some arty books on the impressionistic greats. We have bunnies galore, but I don’t have the heart to do anything about them, a hold-over emotional connection to Peter Rabbit,
Interesting rabbit deterrent ideas–we have a cute bunny eyeing our backyard plants too!

That bunny is pretty darn cute! Don’t know that I’d have the bunny problem here in the heart of Houston, but my girls would love it if we did!
Why am I so afraid of starting a garden? I shop at the farmer’s market every week, so I love the concept, but I’ve yet to dive in myself. I keep thinking I have to research more first (silly, overthinking me!).
Keep us posted on your progress!
