This past Saturday evening started as a quiet night at home. I was upstairs with the boys and they were playing nicely with their train set, my husband was downstairs watching a basketball game. I was in our bedroom and all of a sudden something came swooping towards me…
The bird was probably more scared than me, but you wouldn’t have known it if you had heard me.
My husband, a neighbor and a few brooms later it was out a window.
How did it get in and upstairs?
This is my second bird-in-the-house episode in fifteen months.
I do think any of the above would be a much better alternative.
Here’s to the rest of the week being a little less dramatic.

I would prefer the wallpaper as well. I am sure I would have freaked out too if a bird were flying around over my bed! Oh my!!
I must locate a book for you – there are certain symbols when an animal crosses or flys nearby. Since you have had 2 bird-in-hand stories, there must be something symbolic.
I do believe that it must be “new life” taking flight! Any news?

Laura, this totally made me smile. I love your sense of humor. Very fun — and pretty! — post for a spring Monday.
Although I am a bird lover, I definitely would not appreciate them if they were flying in my house! I much prefer the beautiful bird wall papers in your post
Happy week Laura.

I love the bird patterns. I am also interested in the upholstered headboard in the first picture. I am trying to find one with the pretty wooden frame. Suggestions?
Love your blog.
Thanks.
Sorry to hear about the bird — that would have scared us too! We LOVE the wallpaper, though! We’re noticing the trend in designing interiors with the outdoors in mind, too, and wrote a post about it, if you’re interested! http://bit.ly/aWi2B6
we have an osprey building a nest in our chimney right now
birdemic!
Laura, I had this happen to me a few times, and once we woke up with a bat circling our room! I was terrified – my poor husband had the task of removing him (and he did so – unharmed!) I enjoyed my first visit to your beautiful blog!
