Bloomie’s Big Window Challenge

by laura on January 21, 2010

When we lived in New York I lived nine blocks north of Bloomingdales and always loved to see their windows. Three talented designers are showcasing their designs in the Bloomingdale’s Big Window Challenge and the voting is happening over at Apartment Therapy.

Let me know which window is your favorite!

If I had to make a choice it would probably be the top image, I require simplicity in my living space because in my head it feels like the middle and last photos, a lot going on. Perhaps what I reallly need is a padded cell.

We love the Eddie Ross living room for Elle Decor. The splash of fun color and design is wonderful.

Eddie gets my vote.
Love his color choices. I think any modern woman would be happy in that room.

I was in NYC yesterday – wish I had walked by Bloomies to see these! They are wonderful! I love the third one. Bright pink, orange and blue with neutrals…what fun!

Eddie got my vote because of his choice of color, texture and eclectic style. Love the chandelier, coffee table and throw pillows. Although I would have staged it a bit neater. I would think this media mogul has lots of help keeping her home tidy!

I do like Eileen’s wallpaper selection and the uncluttered look.

I have to echo everyone else and say that Eddie’s room is my fave – love the touches of fuschia, especially. Hope you’re having a good week, Laura! xx

Can’t resist…love them all…but being swayed to Eileen Joyce’s room because it has two Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams pieces–our Tanner chair and Cedric side table at left… As MG+BW communications director, may have to disqualify myself from the voting! :-)

All three deserve awards! I cannot imagine what a task that must have been- getting those rooms installed. I love them all, but secretly deep down, that Eddie rocks. It reminds me of the sort of girlfiriend’s place that you would go for a good talking to and a stiff cocktail.
Bravo to each of the contestants.

I love saying “Like no other store in the world” – in a thick New Yawk accent….
Remember that commercial Laura!

Funny, but I don’t like the wallcovering in any of these. But the color pops in Eddie Ross’ design are my favorite. Love the mix with gilt too!
