I am thrilled thatBunny Williams will be the speaker at this years Room To Bloom Luncheon to benefit the Mint Museum on April 14, 2010 here in Charlotte. This past spring I recapped Charlotte Moss’s discussion on what inspires her, and I am very much looking forward to this event. Bunny Williams was trained under Albert Hadley and Sister Parrish, and their influences are evident in her work, but she has developed a gracious and unique style. This pretty bedroom graced the cover of Elle Decor.

Her classical style is timeless. She handles large spaces well with properly proportioned design.

She is not defined by one style either which has allowed her to take on a range of projects.

I admire her for many reasons, but mostly because she can design beautiful rooms and simultaneously take risks. I can imagine over time that not always picking the expected has helped her evolve and be open as a designer and remain challenged. In this seating arrangment there is a mix of pieces which I always like- an antique side table and a more sleek coffee table.

She chose a Christopher Norman fabric for the wing chair and had it embroidered. She could have easily put a more traditional fabric on it and chose not to.

A more contemporary flooring pattern in an otherwise traditional home gives this hallway some pop.

She sometimes chooses art that is challenging and unexpected. I like that she incorporated a black chandelier as well.

Chinese characters painted on rice paper in the powder room are great looking and certainly not typical powder room decor.

It is clear why she has been inducted into the Interior Design Hall of fame. She is also on the advisory board of my alma matter NYSID. I hope to hear what inspires her in design and more about the production of her new line BeeLine Home.

One of my favorite design books (and titles) is An Affair With a House.

When we lived in NYC her two stores Treilliage, with husband John Roselli, were often one of my spots to stop in as I walked up Lexington and over on East 75th Street.

Check back here for more information and a recap as the date gets closer. Are you a fan of her work as well?

What a design affair, simply elegant and pleasing to the eye.
Reminds me of a perfectly set table with interested place cards, and I want to flip the china to see the name of the pattern. So many things to take delight in….

I am always inspired by Bunny Williams. i am most drawn to rooms that display an eclectic mix of old and new. Thank you for showing such a full range of her work. Treillage is one of my favorite NYC stops as well.
I am working with the 2011 chairs of the Nashville Antiques and Garden Show to select and solidify guest speakers for the event. We hosted Bunny Williams in the past and I hope we can nail down some one as fabulous for the future!
Gorgeous use of color throughout, but especially in the lime and mauve bedroom. It’s very uplifting to see the highest standards of decorating and living upheld. Thank you for this beautiful post!
Yes Bunny is truly a style icon. I just gave one of her books to an Interior Designer friend recently!
What a beautiful post – I could have used some of these images to illustrate my post today, so perfect are the rooms.

Thanks for the great post! Her unexpected approach is certainly an inspiration to take decorating risks in my apartment and break out of my comfort zone. I’ll visit her store soon-thanks for writing about it!
