Richard Avedon (1923-2004) is considered to be one of the world’s most masterful fashion photographers. He spent most of his career at Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. An exhibit of more than 200 of his works will run at the ICP in New York City through September 20, 2009. For more on that exhibit click here. His photographs are captivating, imaginative and always allow me to escape.

Which one is your favorite?

It’s tough to say which is my favorite image, but today it’s Carmen in that fabulous Pierre Cardin coat.

I shall have to go to that show with my friend the photographer – I love all his work, especially that shot with the elephants…
One of my favorite photographers – “Louise Dahl Wolf” – do you know her work?
You will love her photography-

His work is breathtaking–and I never tire of his portraits. I could stare at his portrait of Marlon Brando all day. Wiht his photographs, you feel as if you peeking in on a private moment–seeing the subject matter in a totally different way.

Wow stunning work. Just amazing. It’s so hard to pick a favorite. I’ll have to say image number 2!

Ohhh what a fun questions! While you have found four absolutely beautiful photographs, I’d have to say the one with the elephants is my favorite but the Carmen picture is a close second. I love her umbrella!

I’ve just enrolled in Blog Posting 101. Clearly I have a lot to learn. :)

Love the Carmen photo for the composition of it, but the Dorian Leigh photo is equally as interesting to me, mainly for her dress and that teeny-tiny waist of hers! Both so glamorous! What fun photos!
