Woodlawn House

by laura on June 16, 2009

Tom Glass, an architect who specializes in restoring historic homes, moved Woodlawn House one hundred miles to a piece of property he owns in Virginia.

Built in the 1790′s, Glass said this house had great bones and he wanted to restore it rather than building new.

Thanks, a super house. It can only happen as a labor of love. It’s had to believe it came back after being abandoned for 100 years.

So glad you brought this to my attention -stories like this always make me so hopeful!! So glad the owner did this and didn’t just build a mcmansion!

Wow-what an interesting video. Thank you so much for posting it. I really liked how they showed the transformations of so many different parts of the house-facinating!

Stunning. You would love the historic homes along the Hudson, “Sunnyside” is one of my favorites and the stories live on as these homes have new life breathed into them.
Love that kitchen in this home.
