Every year that I lived in New York City I would look forward to going to the Kips Bay Showhouse. It is a fundraiser for the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club traditionally held in a residential space on the Upper East Side. This year the showhouse will be held April 17th-May 17th at 22 East 71st Street. I am looking forward to seeing the rooms from this year as there is a list of talented designers, one in particular is Gloria Vanderbilt (legendary heiress, jeans designer and Anderson Cooper’s mother). Yes, apparently she does interior design too! I always found going to this showhouse interesting as there are a range of styles and colors. Designers use show houses as an opportunity to either show off their style or to be fantastical and extra creative. Here are a few rooms from the past two years.

What a lovely snippet of previous Kips Bay showhouses. Fun viewing as I drive (well husband’s driving) from Atlanta back home to the beach. Your blog is such a fun mini mag!

I love the bedroom alcove! Makes me want one for my own room. The entrance hall is amazing. The terrace provides a nice getaway for relaxation in a a very urban place.
Kips Bay was the first designer show house my mother brought me to as a teenager (maybe I was a pre-teen?). Talk about ruining all future show house visits! Nothing compares. I miss going so much. Thanks for sharing these pictures.
