a sign of the times…
The design world is lamenting the close of the magazine Domino this week. A friend of mine has a friend there who says she must clear her desk by Friday. Most readers are young women who are interested in interior design and want a fun, comfortable home with affordable options. They showed great homes with young looks, good ideas for DIY and most importantly they were thoughtful to a young woman or family’s design budget. They also featured new and upcoming designers who used lots of color and were resourceful. I will miss reading Domino’s cheery and informative monthly publication, but worse I feel badly to hear about another round of job cuts in my industry.
I hope I can bring to my blog readers what Domino brought to me. I have been thinking of doing a post Chic on the Cheap, so this inspires me to get to work…. let me know what you want to hear!

I am moving into a new small apartment and don’t have a lot of furniture or money to put into it. any suggestions on where to start would be great.
